Ingredients
  

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

  • 1/2 cup salted butter browned
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips plus more for topping

Assembly

  • 5 butter croissants store-bought or bakery-style
  • sea salt for garnish, optional

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter over low heat in a saucepan until browned. Let cool slightly.
  • Whisk sugars into browned butter, then add egg and vanilla. Mix well.
  • Whisk together flour and baking soda separately. Fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients, then fold in chocolate chips.
  • Slice croissants in half horizontally. Fill with 2 tablespoons of cookie dough. Close the croissant gently.
  • Top croissants with another 2 tablespoons cookie dough and sprinkle more chocolate chips on top.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange crookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden brown and gooey inside. Garnish with sea salt if desired.

Notes

Best enjoyed warm. Use high-quality croissants for maximum flakiness. Adjust baking time slightly if you want them extra gooey (8–9 minutes).
